25 November 2014
As the festive season looms, the great and the good dusted off their frocks and tuxedo’s for the two big events in the food industry calendar.
First up was the Quality Food Awards, gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel where the nominees for the most prestigious food and drink product awards in the UK grocery industry awaited decisions.
Winners included Tesco who had an excellent night, winning the Gold Q award for their Finest Sao Tomè 71% Dark Chocolate, amongst many others, and M&S scooping the Gold Q Christmas award for their Whole Baked Pear and Stilton Pork Pie.
Next up was the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards, who opted for a James Bond casino theme. On the night, Dawn Meats stole the show with both the Food Manufacturing Company of the Year award as well as the Environmental Initiative of the Year.
Patrick Coveney picked up the Personality of the Year award after a fantastic few years leading Greencore. The winner of a brand new award for young talent was Jodie Addock of Thorntons.
