Harper Anderton to sponsor Food Science Award

Harper Anderton is now proudly sponsoring the annual Graham Jelfs Award for excellence in industry at the University of Reading.
The award, established originally in 2008 as the Hutchinson Jonas Award, was designed to encourage and inspire those at an entry level in the food industry owing to a number of employment gaps. It is now honoured under the new name of Graham Jelfs, one of the industry’s key players who died tragically in 2013.
This year’s winner, Rosie Patrick, was an asset to the technical team at British Pepper & Spice Company, where she was trusted with control of specifications in order to cover a key member of the team. However, in order to claim the award, owing to the high standard of competition, Rosie had to write a tie-breaking essay to really convince the judges.
The award is a fantastic opportunity and an excellent incentive to really excel within the industry. Harper Anderton is glad to be a part of this and looks forward to congratulating the next winner in March 2015!
