You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Manage NPD projects assigned to you from concept to the successful product launch.
  • Manage the critical path to ensure that each stage of the brief is followed, keeping all parties updated (supplier, customer & the relevant teams).
  • Keep up to date with NPD trends, and market data/research.
  • Raise project briefs against customer or account manager criterion ensuring that the key attributes of each brief is recorded and that the focus (price, quality, timing etc) to its success is clear to all stakeholders.
  • Support the commercial team in preparation for customer presentations.
  • Following customer taste panels and analysis of samples supplied, provide the feedback to the suppliers engaged in the project and agree action plans and timelines for the next steps with all stakeholders (customer, suppliers & the relevant teams).
  • Ensure that the BRC process is followed and that all the appropriate emails and documents are gathered and that the approved product is entered on the product matrix before it is launched.
  • Understand fully and remain updated with supplier capabilities.
  • Ensure all internal admin is regularly updated in an accurate and timely fashion.

What's required?

  • Minimum 3, ideally 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • A degree in food technology.
  • Experience working with the ‘Big 4’ Retailers (Tesco, Sainsburys, Aldi, Morrisons etc).
  • A strategic and innovative thinker with good attention to detail.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels and functions.
  • Client locations can often be in areas not easily accessed by public transport therefore a full driving licence is a necessity.
