You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Proactively engage with the Innovation Services team, Operating Divisions, suppliers, and customers to generate and develop ideas for business growth.
  • Drive marketing, application, and formulation innovation, staying at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Oversee the scale-up process, from pilot stages to commercial volumes.
  • Support the successful introduction of innovations into the market.
  • Manage and deliver a variety of projects, tailored to the specific needs of the division or industry.

What's required?

Requirements:

  • Education & Technical Knowledge:
    • BSc in Food Technology or equivalent qualification.
    • Sensory Analysis Certification and understanding of flavour technologies.
    • Knowledge of food regulatory requirements, including labelling standards.
    • Strong technical knowledge of food manufacturing processes and settings.
  • New Product Development (NPD):
    • Experience in commercial NPD, including recipe and formulation development.
    • Practical understanding of advanced technical methods, formulations, and analytical techniques.
    • Expertise in scaling NPD projects for various market applications (e.g., bakery, dairy, beverage, sweet, savoury sectors).
    • Track record of delivering complex NPD projects with commercial success.
  • Market & Customer Insight:
    • Advanced understanding of market trends and customer needs.
    • Proven ability to engage customers, develop project briefs, and deliver successful solutions at scale.
  • Management & Communication Skills:
    • Experience managing scientifically trained teams.
    • Strong ability to present compelling cases to leadership, customers, and suppliers.
    • Analytical, numerate, literate, and creative with a focus on innovation.
  • Specialist Interests:
    • Interest and expertise in plant protein formulation.
