You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Successfully deliver product launches on time and in full according to the development trial plan.
  • Recruit, lead, motivate, and inspire direct reports up to senior process development technologist level, supporting their personal development and continuous improvement.
  • Manage trial critical paths, forecasts, and plans; control resources to deliver development activities to the agreed quality and within trial budget.
  • Trial and embed new products, processes, and equipment into the plant through robust procedures and controls required for the successful launch of products.
  • Utilise the principles of Operational Excellence to manage the process blueprint implementation across site operations, ensuring all aspects of people, process, and plant are covered, including the review cycle.
  • Present facts, concepts, and assessments to internal and external customers with clear, backed-up rationale. Influence and persuade customers to accept changes, new processes, etc.
  • Understand and adhere to HSE, GMP, and food safety standards across all sites.

What's required?

  • Degree level – Food Science, Food Technology, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement.
  • Previous experience of managing a team is essential.
  • 5+ years’ experience within the food industry, bakery, or similar role, with management experience.
  • Knowledge and passion for food processing, material properties, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literate – particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Basic knowledge or above in Food Hygiene.
