Are you a driven and passionate Quality Manager ready to lead and inspire?

As the Site Technical Lead, you'll report directly to the Group Technical Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the site’s quality standards. This is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to engage and motivate the QA team while fostering a culture of excellence. You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Vital part of the Technical team, reporting to the Technical Manager (Dual site).  
  • Responsible for ensuring quality assurance to deliver great value, safe, innovative, and quality-assured products.  
  • Strive for continuous improvement by implementing Quality Standards, Systems, and Processes for company products in line with group policy.  
  • Ensure quality standards meet and exceed customers’ requirements, ensuring full compliance with the site vision.  
  • Manage, motivate, and oversee the Quality Auditors, providing goal-oriented feedback and fostering strong communication links.  
  • Drive business performance and KPIs in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Lead the team by example, encouraging development and cultivating positive team-based relationships.  
  • Conduct risk-based Quality Systems Audits as required.  
  • Review customer complaints, audit deficiencies, and monitor the status of root cause corrective actions.  
  • Collaborate with Health and Safety teams to address related issues, producing risk assessments as needed.  
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive information for internal and external customers in a timely manner.  
  • Record, analyse, and distribute statistical information while building strong relationships with internal departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers.  
  • Act as a catalyst for change by ensuring robust systems are developed and implemented to comply with BRC and customer requirements, while maintaining product quality, legality, and safety.  
  • Maintain allergen and HACCP controls on site and ensure the accuracy of associated information.  
  • Work closely with the site operations team to address technical, compliance, and quality issues with honesty and cooperation.  
  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholders through excellent communication skills.  
  • Confidently communicate across all organisational levels and with internal and external contacts.

What's required?

  • Strong technical background in the food manufacturing industry
  • Relevant qualification and in-depth knowledge of Food Safety, Microbiology and Quality Assurance
  • Experience of leading and motivating a site QA function including process control and the launch of products
  • Experienced in auditing with in depth knowledge of HACCP, BRC and internal auditing systems
  • Experienced in leading and developing a successful team
  • Flexible with a hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication skills
