As the Site Technical Lead, you'll report directly to the Group Technical Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the site’s quality standards. You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Vital part of the Technical team, reporting to the Technical Manager (Dual site).
- Responsible for ensuring quality assurance to deliver great value, safe, innovative, and quality-assured products.
- Strive for continuous improvement by implementing Quality Standards, Systems, and Processes for company products in line with group policy.
- Ensure quality standards meet and exceed customers’ requirements, ensuring full compliance with the site vision.
- Manage, motivate, and oversee the Quality Auditors, providing goal-oriented feedback and fostering strong communication links.
- Drive business performance and KPIs in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead the team by example, encouraging development and cultivating positive team-based relationships.
- Conduct risk-based Quality Systems Audits as required.
- Review customer complaints, audit deficiencies, and monitor the status of root cause corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Health and Safety teams to address related issues, producing risk assessments as needed.
- Provide accurate and comprehensive information for internal and external customers in a timely manner.
- Record, analyse, and distribute statistical information while building strong relationships with internal departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Act as a catalyst for change by ensuring robust systems are developed and implemented to comply with BRC and customer requirements, while maintaining product quality, legality, and safety.
- Maintain allergen and HACCP controls on site and ensure the accuracy of associated information.
- Work closely with the site operations team to address technical, compliance, and quality issues with honesty and cooperation.
- Build positive relationships with key stakeholders through excellent communication skills.
- Confidently communicate across all organisational levels and with internal and external contacts.
What's required?
- Strong technical background in the food manufacturing industry
- Relevant qualification and in-depth knowledge of Food Safety, Microbiology and Quality Assurance
- Experience of leading and motivating a site QA function including process control and the launch of products
- Experienced in auditing with in depth knowledge of HACCP, BRC and internal auditing systems
- Experienced in leading and developing a successful team
- Flexible with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work on own initiative
