You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Review daily Quality information and attend operation meetings as the quality representative.
- Complete daily reports with accurate and factual information.
- Manage incidents, including quick risk assessment of potential quality and/or food safety issues.
- Ensure the hold log is up to date and mass balances are conducted in a timely manner.
- Drive improvements in Food Safety and Quality Systems.
- Actively participate in the internal audit programme, traceability exercises, and GFSI and third-party audits.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including 3/5 and 8-step processes.
- Take ownership and management of CAPA.
- Complete quality sign-offs as required and participate in site trials.
- Develop and ensure Food Safety work permits are in place for all relevant works and completed appropriately.
- Conduct site-wide GMP audits and Gemba walks as per schedule.
- Collaborate with other functions to embed Quality Assurance throughout the site.
- Support the maintenance of an up-to-date HACCP plan and assist the HACCP team leader.
- Manage customer relations, including handling queries and addressing audit findings/CAPAs.
- Drive continuous improvements in Quality Culture.
What's required?
- Knowledge of relevant Food Safety and Quality systems and their implementation, such as HACCP and Root Cause Analysis.
- Internal audit skills.
- Ability to communicate best practice knowledge at various levels.
- Strong influencing skills, particularly in managing conflicting priorities.
- Proactive and motivated by change.
- Strong organisational, planning, and decision-making abilities
- .Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Desirable knowledge of SharePoint, Redzone, and/or SAP software.
- Knowledge of cane sugar processing is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Food Science or related subject) or equivalent.
